Languid Leaves Metal

Languid by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman fabrics. Carolyn was inspired by basic everyday things in her life like the clay roads and groves where she lives that she sees so often. This collection features a new fabric technique which adds an element of shine to the fabrics, a similar technique to Kona Sheen. The shine factor is incorporated in two different ways into the collection, some of the designs feature a screen-printed motif on the fabric under an allover-shine on top, whilst others are motifs created by the sheen itself. Carolyn describes it as a really fun way of using simple and grounded sources of inspiration re-interpreted in a fancy light. She wanted her colour palette to be both grounded and earthy with exuberant pops as she needed a palette to balance with the shine technique.
